Less than three days. (at least until our flight to Boston)

One take-home exam that is mostly done for PAS.
One voice lesson.
One cake-testing.

Frey does not bark. Frey is still a dog, however, and thus must find some way to express his excitement that we are home and he gets to come out of his kennel.

1. Apparently most of the episode titles of Desperate Housewives are taken from Sondheim songs. That plus the fact that Agent Dale Cooper plays a major role in the show almost makes me want to watch it.

I feel like I'm waiting for something, then get disappointed when nothing happens.

Finally recovered my computer after getting a nasty malware virus through a link someone posted on their facebook profile (no, I'm not kidding, and yes, I informed this person that that's what their link did). The credit goes entirely to

occultatio, who is absolutely the best fiance ever lovelovelove.

We're less than four weeks into the semester and it's already hellacious - we have a quiz or exam each week until after midterm week. Oh boy. At least the micro quiz went well!

I don't ordinarily tell people my dreams, but...last night I dreamed about gods in mechas. And I was totally Shamshir. Shamshir in a mecha! I think I was beating up Shiva.

From weather.com: "THIS EVENT MAY BECOME COMPARABLE TO THE HALLOWEEN SNOW STORM OF 1991." Hoooly crap. I'm losing hope about making it to SF on Friday...

Costco pet beds are amazing. A third of the price of a similarly sized bed at a pet store, with the bonus feature that when I get a whiff of Frey it smells like cedar rather than dog.

He really likes my Histology notes, for whatever reason. I mean, to chew on. And now he can, since the class is over! I'd still prefer he lay off the Biochem until tomorrow, though.

Whenever we do anything that excludes him (close the door, put him in his crate, even so much as walk away from him after petting him), he gives us these AMAZINGLY SAD PUPPY EYES. You are the WORST PERSON EVER for doing this to him and he'll let you know it.

It would be a lie to say I have nothing to do tomorrow (I do, after all, still have a final on Thursday), but I have no where I have to be, and so it'll feel like a break even if I'm still studying. Also we'll probably have more X-files.

Just one final to go!

Today we were visited by a member of the Rescue a Golden of Minnesota Society (RAGOM), a golden retriever rescue organization, to see if we were qualified to adopt one of their dogs. And we were approved by them this evening! That means we can get a doggy. Doggy!!

Sadly, they have just started a waitlist for adopting dogs in the 6 month to 3 year age group, which is precisely what we're looking at. So we might not be able to get a dog for a bit, still. But at least we can! It will happen!

Nipple confusion!

Tonight I performed for ~1200 people.

I apparently got honors in Anatomy. And here they kept claiming honors didn't exist for the class...::raises eyebrow::

Well, fuckin' awesome anyway.

The arrow-drawing tool for orgo reactions is really quite powerful. Anytime we get some kind of reaction in biochem, even though we're not expected to memorize the structures, I immediately understand what's going on thanks to all that work we did drawing arrows onto reactions.

See, orgo is useful for med school!!

All day, it's been alternating between snow and rain. Right now it seems to have settled on rain, but we'll see how long that lasts.

I don't even want to walk two blocks to mail something. Ew.

On a whim,

occultatio and I decided to check out a Cambodian restaurant a few miles away, in a sort of shady part of town. It turned out be a great idea.

occultatio tried a Cambodian-style pad thai that he claims was sort of bland, but that he saw a lot of other things he'd like to try there, and I had tom yum soup with quail eggs - the default way the soup was served. Turns out quail eggs are pretty good, at least hard-boiled and served in tom yum soup. It was also awesomely cheap, since my meal (at $8) was on the more expensive side of the menu, and

occultatio's was even less.

Now I just have to make it to that Tibetan place and get me some goddamn yak already.

It snowed last night.
